Montville Man and Orwell Woman Busted for Meth

Geauga County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Anthony J. Garey and Brittani L. Roberts last week after they discovered an active meth lab at 16852 Whitney Road in Montville Township.

Detectives met with Garey on July 1 to follow up on his June 25 arrest for trafficking in methamphetamine, when they observed a large bag of marijuana on the front seat of his vehicle.

Detectives then observed an active meth lab in the vehicle.

Garey, a resident of Montville, was arrested and charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs while Roberts, of Orwell, was charged with complicity to illegal manufacturing of drugs.

The detectives neutralized the lab and cleaned up the chemicals.

Montville and Hambden fire departments assisted at the scene.

Montville Zoning Making it Happen, Says Trustee

Montville Township Trustee Jim Marsic said he is pleased with recent progress on recent zoning issues in the township at the July 1 trustees meeting.

He said Zoning Inspector Mike Benesh is having success related to trailer removal on a Clay Street property.

“Mike sent a letter and the owner’s efforts have resulted in the clean-up,” Marsic said.

In other news, he said the Tvergyak and Biacofsky properties, long-time problems, are nearing the end of their clean-up processes. A third property, the Hanson house, still is problematic, however, he added.

Marsic also said the township is planning a Bicentennial Celebration for July 25, 2015.

“Stay tuned for more information on that,” he added.
