The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office June 3 through June 9. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 334 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

June 3

8:10 a.m., Blue Heron Trail, Munson. There is a loose pitbull that charged caller so she ran back in her house. She is afraid to go and get in her car. Unknown if the dog is still there. Deputy advised. Animal not observed in the neighborhood. Female got back in her car and left when the deputy arrived.

June 9

8:28 p.m., Thrasher Road, Troy. Caller would like to remain anonymous. There is a dog in a cage in the front yard of the house that is whimpering in pain and the caller would like him checked out. The dog looks very ill and is not being attended to. The male called back in to advise that him and the dog owner are going to get medication to help the dog. Caller advised the owner and himself were going to get meds for the dog and no longer needed a deputy.

FRAUD

June 7

9:41 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller believes they are receiving fraudulent scam emails. Caller states they requested a large order and wanted to send a courier service, but wanted them to use cashiers checks. Requesting a deputy to take report. Deputy spoke with the complainant and advised the, it was a scam.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

June 4

9:28 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Juveniles are riding 4-wheelers in the field across the street. Caller would like to speak with a Deputy. Deputy spoke to the complainant, who did not know who owns the property, but stated that the young kids continuously ride on the property. Checked the area and did not observe any 4-wheelers in the field, nor on Taylor Wells Road.

SUSPICIOUS

June 3

4:31 p.m., Eastpoint Drive, Huntsburg. Caller would like to make a report about her home being egged. She is not sure when this occurred. She states that she was working on the flower beds today and noticed egg shells on the ground. Deputy advised. Complainant found remnants of her house being egged, which she states happened some time last week. No suspects at this time, she requests the incident be documented and extra patrol on Eastpoint Drive.

June 6

10:18 a.m., Munnberry Oval, Newbury. Approximately two weeks ago there was a large theft of copper line on the utility lines that run through my property. Now there is somebody out there with a brush hog. The caller is usually notified anytime there will be activity on the Illuminating Companies property. She can also see people walking through her back of her property.

June 9

7:41 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Caller states that she came to her rental property today and found a bullet in the front picture window of the home. Deputy responded to the location and met with the caller. The caller stated that the house is vacant at the time and the caller was cutting the grass. The caller said that he observed the bullet inside the window. The window was broken but not all the way through and the bullet was still inside. Deputy was unable to collect the bullet without breaking the window. The caller did not want the property damage investigated but wanted the Sheriff’s Office to be aware. Deputy conducted a canvass in the area with negative results.
