The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office October 17 through October 23. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 367 calls during this seven-day period.

CIVIL DISPUTE

October 23

9:05 p.m., Munn Road, Newbury. Male in the lobby to make a report of a problem with his neighbor. There was an argument and the neighbor swung at him. Deputy advised. Complainant was having problems with neighbors septic system draining onto his property. Advice given regarding that matter. Complainant advised that during the coarse of the incident yesterday with his neighbor’s boyfriend, the boy-friend swung at him but did not make contact. Complainant wanted this documented in case there are future incidents.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

October 20

9:49 a.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. Boyfriend is throwing things at me. No squad needed. No weapons. No children in the house. Both parties are drinking. Female is going to lock herself in another room. Male is leaving in a black GMC, unknown direction of travel. Male threw clothing and other small personal items, none of the items caused injury. The male is going through a divorce and a tough time right now. Deputy advised. Boy-friend and girlfriend had a minor argument. No violence. Male did throw clothes down the steps. Female was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her ex-husband and “flashed back”.

HARASSMENT

October 18

11;52 a.m., Claridon Troy Road, Burton. Cleaning out the house for the owner. Previous renter moved out about two months ago. He was being evicted. He was here arguing and getting hostile over $5,000 worth of heating fuel. He left in a light blue Nissan pickup truck. Deputy spoke with the owner of the property, was just worried about everyone’s safety. Deputy spoke to homeowners again, and advised them to call again if he returns. Extra patrol requested.

SUSPICIOUS

October 19

9:21 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Male stating a suspect tried to run him over with his vehicle. The suspect was highly intoxicated and there was an argument. It was then he tried to run over the caller. Male left in a Red Pontiac Grand Prix with a black bumper. Complainant stated that he and his friend got out of the suspect’s vehicle after a verbal altercation. Complainant stated that the suspect tried to hit him with his car. Complainant declined to pursue charges. Madison Township police advised that the suspect vehicle crashed in their jurisdiction.

October 21

7:28 a.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. When female was leaving for work, a person was standing behind her car in a lighter colored hoodie. She saw this on her backup camera. She started beeping her horn and locked the doors. Her family came out. Nobody was found in the area.

October 22

10:24 a.m., Widgeon Drive, Auburn. Complainant thinks someone is staking out his house. Gold colored Honda Pilot pulled up his driveway. Complainant had his garage doors open and his dogs started barking. Complainant works from home and went outside to see what was going on and as soon as the two guys in the vehicle saw the complainant, they took off at a high rate of speed. This occurred 30 minutes ago. Deputy advised. Complainant was not home. Spoke with him over the phone. Advised him to call if he saw the vehicle in the area again.

THREATENING

October 17

5:18 p.m., Cutts Road, Hambden. Twelve-year-old-son was being threatened over Skype yesterday by a male they believe is in the seventh grade. The boy showed a knife to him and said he was going to stab him, then later showed what looked like a BB?gun and said he was going to shoot him. Mother would like to make a report. She does not know the other boy’s name but knows he goes to Chardon Middle School. Deputy advised. Complainant asked the deputy to obtain the name of the suspect juvenile and provide it to her. Deputy advised that he could not do that. Complainant stated she would like to handle it through the school at this time and declined to pursue charges.

WEAPON OFFENSE

October 18

3:58 p.m., Plank Road, Montville. Complainant found a .22 caliber bullet in-between pains of glass of one of their windows. Would like a report. Deputy responded to location and met with the complainants. Complainants advised they do not suspect anyone who may have been shooting in the area. Also, the incident occurred approximately two weeks ago during the nighttime hours. I noted damage to the kitchen window and the remains of a .223 round. Complainants advised they wanted the incident documented at this time.

October 19

5:24 p.m., Regent Park Drive, Munson. Caller requesting a deputy check the residence in the cul-de-sac between two empty lots. States they are shooting and not sure if they are doing it safely. Caller also advised the children ride their ATVs on the street often, and the 16-year-old daughter who resides there drives erratically during school bus times. Caller requesting a check on the shooting and an extra patrol on the street. Deputy sat in the area and did not hear any shooting. Spoke with the resident who advised that he had just gotten home and believed it to be coming from Bean Road somewhere. Resident advised that he does shoot, just not today.

WELFARE CHECK

October 22

8:23 a.m.,?Sperry Road, Newbury. Possible suicidal male, left message on an answering machine at UH basically stating goodbye. No means given. Did state it would be the last time he would speak with them. Deputies responded to location and talked to the male through the window. Male advised he is under stress but does not want to harm himself. Male further stated that he told the hospital goodbye because he decided not to get any more medical treatment for his cancer. No evidence was located that the male was going to harm himself or others. Male was advised of copeline if he needed to talk to anyone.
