The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 7-13. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 379 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Nov. 8
12:09 p.m., Bud Drive, Middlefield. A dog attacked my dog and my husband. He is at the house. Unknown if he needs medical attention. Complainant is at the Middlefield Vet on Old State Road with injured dog. Unknown who dog belongs to. Deputy advised. Male is not injured and dog is in the area and the caller is getting his shotgun. It looks like a wolfdog. Male advised to go back to his residence. Dog owner located; dog warden cited owner and to follow up with victim.
EXTRA PATROL
Nov. 11
10:16 p.m., Bean Road, Munson. Extra patrol for Nero Nature Preserve. Munson trustees are receiving complaints of suspicious vehicles in the afternoon to late night at the park. A truck has been noticed multiple times pulling up next to a car and a female gets in the truck for a period of time. Residents are reporting used prophylactics being found around the parking area.
GAS LEAK
Nov. 13
4:20 p.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. One vehicle hit a gas main. It is leaking a lot of gas. Unknown injuries. He is still in the vehicle. Deputy responded. Driver’s property recovered from the vehicle and returned to her. However, while obtaining the VIN number from the vehicle, deputy found $20 in the cup holder. Vehicle is being stored at Interstate Towing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE
Nov. 7
3:31 p.m., W. High Street., Middlefield. Silver car, male in white spandex and a black T-shirt was playing with himself. He has now left and gone behind CVS. Deputy advised and unable to locate the male. Deputy spoke with complainant who stated he never exposed his bare skin, but played with himself through clothing.
SUSPICIOUS
Nov. 7
3:16 p.m., Chardon Road, Chardon. Caller advised her daughter’s boyfriend has been sneaking into her house late at night. He has been told repeatedly he is not to be on the property. The caller is not home now and the male has been in the area. He has dark, curly hair; he is short and stocky. The caller’s 17-year-old daughter called her mom at work and said he was “lurking” around the house and hanging out at the Dollar General. He does not have a vehicle. He is homeless at the moment. He came here on a bus from Baltimore. The male threatened to kill the caller and her family if they went to sleep at night. The threat occurred in July. He is known to carry a large knife. He threatened the caller with it at one time. The daughter that is dating this male is mentally disabled. She is not able to make rational decisions for herself. The caller would like the deputy to call her at work with their findings.
Nov. 9
11:42 a.m., Route 166 & 86. While westbound on state Route 166, a silver Honda Accord with an African American passenger came up really fast on complainant and it appeared he pointed a gun at the complainant while following closely. He would no pass complainant. The driver was a male wearing sunglasses. No other information. Front license plate says “KIA.” Lake County advised. Unable to locate.
Nov. 10
12:34 a.m., Goodwin Avenue, Burton. My son just called me to let me know he came home to find the lights on in the house and possible gas problems. Caller believes someone is purposely sabotaging his house. Deputy spoke to the son, who advised he is parked on the square in a gray Pontiac Sunfire. When he arrived home one hour ago, he smelled gas and all the lights on. The house checked secure upon arrival; no signs of any forced entry. The fire department checked the interior oxygen levels and were good.
Nov. 10
7:06 p.m., Treadway Drive, Munson. Mom lives behind caller and said someone was walking around the house with a flash light. Deputy arrived and checked the exterior of the residence with no evidence located. Deputy met with homeowner who said her daughter had been in trouble last night with three males in her car. Homeowner believes they may have been looking into her daughter’s vehicle for contraband from last night, including marijuana and alcohol.
Nov. 12
12:44 p.m., Reeves Road, Parkman. Couple days ago on Reeves, a guy in a black pickup truck was following two little girls on scooters; he even pulled into a driveway behind them. They were really scared. He never got out of the truck. The mother is aware. This is the second incident on Bundysburg; the same vehicle followed another little girl. They even pulled into the residence and knocked on the door; the little girl ran into the woods to hide. A third incident happened on Reeves where the oil wells are; the truck sat in the driveway for awhile. Complainant was at Middlefield PD and will meet with a deputy.
THEFT
Nov. 11
10:55 a.m., GAR?Highway, Hambden. Last night or early this morning someone broke into the barn and a couple garages behind the house were broken into. An air compressor is missing. Previous owner may have taken it. She sent a text message to the realtor stating she was going to cut the locks and to go through stuff. Deputy advised.
VANDALISM
Nov. 12
8:21 a.m., Locust Grove Drive, Hambden. Tail lights were broken and car was keyed while parking in my garage. It could have happened sometime within the last two weeks. There is glass all over and the hammer that did it has plastic on it, and it was from my garage also.
