The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 30 through Feb. 5. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 313 calls during this seven-day period.

AGENCY ASSIST

Feb. 1

6:31 p.m., Messenger Road, Auburn. Caller requesting a check on male’s welfare and to see if he will contact Chagrin Falls Police Department. Male used to be business partners with other people who now plow in the same area as him. Male had an altercation with them today, and they reported he tried to hit them with his vehicle and followed them around to the police department parking lot. Caller advised there is a history of threats according to the complainant. Male is possibly intoxicated. Male was driving a blue Dodge truck with a plow and Fairway Lawns on the sides.

ALARM RESIDENCE

Jan. 31

10:32 a.m., Tavern Road, Burton. Basement motion. Elderly resident has dementia and often leaves the house without properly setting the alarm. She drives a Ford Fusion. Daughter cannot remember the password and wanted officers to be advised, call her daughter if there is any problem. Cancelled per alarm company.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Feb. 2

7:57 a.m., Stonegate Drive, Munson. Black and white female boxer is running in and out of traffic. The caller was able to get her off Wilson Mills but cannot get the dog into her car. Requesting some assistance with the dog. No collar or tags. Complainant will be parked on Stonegate in a black Mitsubishi Outlander. The dog returned home, but the owners could not be contacted.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Feb. 4

10:10 a.m., Bell St., Newbury. Neighbor is pushing snow across the street into my yard. Now it’s hard for me to see pulling out of the driveway. I told him to stop doing that before and he hasn’t. Deputy spoke with both complainant and the neighbor across the street, who agreed not to plow snow into the neighbor’s yard across the street. Both parties advised.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

Jan. 30

7:04 p.m., Stone Road, Newbury. There are people there trying to move out. The caller said it is disrupting her household and she wants them all removed. The unwanted subjects are the caller’s mother and her two brothers. Deputy advised. Verbal dispute about moving out of the residence. Persons are still going to move out their property. Com-plainant is highly intoxicated and will stay upstairs and allow parties to move out.

EXTRA PATROL

Feb. 3

1:10 p.m., Newcomb Road,?Parkman. There has been a tan pickup truck with writing on the back window that says “dutchin,” stopping and asking Amish girls if they would like a ride home. The driver is a bald man and is always alone. This usually occurs on Sundays between 10 and 11 a.m. Complainant would like an extra patrol.

Feb. 5

4:53 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Superintendent of Newbury Schools states they are having a problem with a parent who likes to try and squeeze in between buses while they are dropping kids off in order to get his kid closer to the door. Today the principal tried walking up to the vehicle to advise the parents not to do that anymore, but he threw the car in reverse and took off. He drives a white car and drops off his children between 7:25 and 7:35 a.m. Superintendent would like a deputy there in the morning to advise him to stop cutting in between buses.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Feb. 1

8:49 a.m., Woodcrest Lane, Chester. 14-year-old male is punching his father and getting out of hand. No one is injured. Weapons are not in the house. No drug or alcohol use. Typical of him to leave on foot. He is in his room screaming; high functioning autism with history of abuse and violence. Chester will be transporting juvenile to Portage/Geauga Juvenile Detention Center. Juvenile arrested for domestic violence.

ODOR INVEST

Feb. 5

8:41 p.m., SR 528 and SR 608, Middlefield. Caller reported smell of natural gas in the area. Deputy checked the area with no findings. Call of this nature appeared several years ago, which was due to a gas well transmission line which runs through the woods in the area. The odor would occur during product transmission and resulted in 911 calls at approximately the same time over the course of several days. Orwell Gas was notified. They are going to be sending a representative to the location to take a look at the situation.

SUSPICIOUS

Feb. 3

3:57 p.m., Plank Road, Montville. Caller said a male called her about buying coins. He said some things on the phone that led her to believe he may be watching her house. She is elderly. Deputy arrived on scene and spoke with the female, who advised of a suspicious phone call from a person trying to sell coins. The person eventually hung up. Advise was given.

Feb. 4

11:18 a.m., Cottage Hill Lane, Chardon. On post for advice referencing inappropriate texts, sexting. Com-plainant advised nude photos of her daughter and another girl from Bainbridge being shared between Chardon Middle School students. She asked for advice only due to photos being erased. Advised to contact Chardon Middle School or request an investigation. Information pro-vided regarding sexting.

TRAFFIC HAZARD

Jan. 31

12:20 p.m., Bell St., Newbury. Caller was going down Bell Street and saw a female jogging. The road is covered with snow. Someone needs to tell her “to get a clue.” Deputy checked area and was unable to locate female.
