The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 6-12. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 280 calls during this seven-day period.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Feb. 9

10:53 a.m., Boulder Glen Drive, Munson. Complainant requesting a deputy stop in and check his residence. He is currently at work. Earlier today, he received one of the scam IRS calls and, without even thinking, provided his address. The caller would just like to make sure all is well at the house and he will call back at a later time if he needs to meet with a deputy. Residence checked ok.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Feb. 7

7:27 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Male waiting outside possibly for another parent to come out. Male outside is a black male in a white shirt. Other male parent is inside and is a white male, and is staying inside until deputy arrives. Caller believes this is a racially charged incident over a comment the white male made about the black male’s daughter. Male inside the building is at the back entrance requesting an escort to his vehicle in the parking. Deputy spoke with both parties involved. Advice given.

DISORDERLY

Feb. 10

12:21 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Parent at high school lobby is asking for the police to be called. She is irrational. So mad she is foaming at the mouth. Principal is asking the police to come. She may have left the building now. Second call, female is walking back and forth in front of the building. Staff believes she is on something. This call, female is on drugs, in front of the children, with no shoes on, about to walk into the street. Deputy spoke with boyfriend, she took the wrong psych meds and it set her off. Boyfriend advising the child is at the school. Grandfather on scene now saying he has the 3-year-old. The 3-year-old is with the grandmother and 5-year-old is currently in school.

HARASSMENT

Feb. 10

3:41 p.m., Mount Pleasant Drive, Auburn. Caller states she is in charge of handling snow plowing and salting for her community. Caller states the plow guy is on the road right now; another resident of the community is following him and harassing him, unknown why. Male that is harassing the snowplow driver is in a grey Ford Escape.The male is parked outside caller’s house now. The snowplow driver is on caller’s porch. Deputy spoke with all parties involved, residents are not happy with the plowing service they hired to plow the streets. Plow driver advised he is salting the street. All parties advised.

Feb. 11

11:35 a.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Female states a tenant is threatening and harassing her via phone. Caller is from JSN Reality. Complainant stated that the tenant keeps texting her to stop her from filing an eviction notice again. Complainant will have her attorney file an eviction notice and a letter advising him not to have anymore contact with the complainant. R/O read the text messages between the two parties and there was nothing criminal involved in those messages. Advice given and complainant will contact R/O if she has anymore problems.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Feb. 11

9:56 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. 17 year old male came home from work out of control and screaming at parents. The son is on a diversion program for being unruly. Male did have a pocket knife, but he placed it on the kitchen table. He is now in his bedroom. The son came home upset because his parents caught him in a lie. He is now in his room lifting weights. He appears to have calmed down, and is speaking politely to his parents. The son lied about being at work, when in fact he went to see his girlfriend. Parents and son got into an argument over the lying. Advice given to all parties, and son agreed not to lie to his parents anymore.

NOISE PROBLEM

Feb. 9

10:05 p.m., Cloverdale Drive, Middlefield. Caller hears a lot of banging and thinks he hears crying and yelling. Deputy spoke with the resident. She advised her 10-year-old daughter was having an issue, she is currently under doctors care for possible mental health issues. Also her sons were talking loud and rough housing, banging into the common walls. They were advised of the complaint and advised to keep the noise down.

SUSPICIOUS

Feb. 6

12:58 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. The owner of Gas USA has been incredibly inappropriate, verbally and physically with two young ladies that have gone in the store a couple of times. The complainant, the director of The Next Step Program, is with the two women currently and was approached with the women’s concerns. She would like the deputies to stop in and speak with them. Use the back entrance. Report taken.

TRAFFIC CRASH

Feb. 6

1:08 p.m., Old State Road, Parkman. 74-year-old male was involved in a snowmobile accident and now is sweating, very pale and may be having a heart attack. He has a large knot on his leg. Male is trying to throw up and is shaking. Male went over the hood when he hit a ditch. The initial crash occurred about an hour ago. He is no longer feeling dizzy. Male states he did not hit his head and is beginning to feel better. One male transported to Geauga Hospital.

TRESPASSING

Feb. 8

7:54 p.m., Tudor Place, Hambden. Four snowmobiles went through callers yard. They went west through the woods. One was a red snowmobile but no other description could be seen. The caller does not need to speak with a deputy. He would just like the area checked. Deputy located parked snowmobiles. Spoke to attached subject, who was uncooperative in regards to this and denied trespassing or doing anything illegal in regards to snowmobile operations. Was advised to stay off other people’s property.
