The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office March 26 through April 2. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 303 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

April 1

4:00 p.m., Bell Street, Newbury. Caller states they are having an ongoing issue with their neighbor’s dog that comes in their yard and corners them and barks. Caller states they have tried to approach the neighbors, but they won’t answer their door. Deputy advised. Bulldog or Pitbull-type dog. Caller had to bring her kids in because the dog just came back into the yard. The dog warden was contacted.

CITIZEN’S ASSIST

April 1

8:01 p.m., Basswood Road, Munson. Caller would like to speak to a deputy via telephone. He is upset because he lost his job in Fairlawn because of a male he has a protection order against. He wants to know if he can press harassment charges against the male. He states the harassment took place prior to the male being served the order. Deputy advised. The male just wanted advice about what to do if a violation of his protection order occurs.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

March 29

9:30 p.m., Goredon Drive, Aquilla. Caller states her husband is telling her to get out of the house and to leave. He wants her to leave because she does not pay bills. Caller states he takes the car keys everyday so she cannot leave. Caller does not believe there are any weapons in the house. Report to be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

DRUGS/ALCOHOL

March 31

9:20 p.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Caller advised he thinks he just witnessed a drug deal occur in a lot of St. Luke’s Church. Caller advised one of the vehicles involved is still parked in the church lot. White Honda Civic. Caller advised a Porsche-type vehicle pulled in the lot, went around the back of the church and the driver of the Civic walked over to the vehicle. The Porsche then left and the other driver is still waiting in the lot.

EXTRA PATROL

March 27

7:48 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Caller received a call last night from someone saying they were from the Life Insurance Company and said they were coming tonight at 9 p.m. They did not leave a name. Complainant is worried that someone may show up. Would like someone in the area at that time just in case.

March 31

3:04 p.m., Stafford Road, Auburn. Request for extra patrol at Auburn Springs Golf Course. Business is under new ownership. Owner is advising there has been a lot of vandalism and theft due to previous owners not securing anything. Caller requests deputy drive by the business.

GAS LEAK

April 2

8:58 a.m., Butternut Road, Burton. Low pressure in gas furnace. Caller believes there is a leak at the well. Caller does not hear ot see anything other than the low pressure. Caller told the deputy there has been a break in the gas line in the past and there was low pressure and that is why she thinks there is another break in the line. Caller does not know what company runs the gas well.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

April 2

6:16 p.m., Montclair Road, Hambden. Five juveniles are walking up to houses. When they see someone is home they are running away and down the street. One has a orange hoodie, one green shorts and two in dark hoodies. Caller advised the deputy can stop at his house if needed. Deputy spoke with the five juveniles. They were playing ding-dong-ditch. There were advised not to play that game anymore. Juveniles stated they would comply.

SUSPICIOUS

March 30

1:39 a.m., Newcomb Road, Middlefield. A gold sedan threw eggs at a buggy then went south on Newcomb. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate vehicle. Deputy then stopped and spoke with a couple other buggies in the area to see if they had seen the vehicle or if the vehicle had thrown eggs at them. Both people deputy spoke with said they had not seen the vehicle.

April 1

9:34 p.m., Taylor May Road, Auburn. Caller states people are spear fishing in LaDue near Auburn Road. The game warden was advised and asked if deputies could check the bridge off Auburn Road near LaDue to see if any vehicles are parked there. If there are vehicles in the area, please write down licence plates and forward them to the game warden.

TRESPASSING

March 28

4:01 p.m., Fairmount Road, Newbury. Caller states her parents showed up at her house. She does not want them at her house. She has asked them several times to leave but they are refusing to. Parents are in a gold-color midsize sedan, possibly a Chevy. Parents are currently sitting on the front porch. Deputy advised. Parents are estranged from complainant. The parents arrived to speak with the daughter, who told the parents to leave. The parents finally left after the deputy advised them they are trespassing, if they fail to leave when the property owner/leasee tells them to leave and they refuse. Parents are upset the daughter cut them out of her life. Complainant and her husband don’t want the parents to return.
