The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office July 10-16. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 374 calls during this seven-day period.

ALARM RESIDENCE

July 13

10:26 p.m., Ravenna Road, Newbury. The caller is the homeowner. He advised his shop alarm is going off. Front door and motion detector are going off. Caller is en route. Caller was advised to meet the deputy by the road. Crowbar found on the floor; possible damage to the door. Caller was advised to leave the property and wait at the road.

SUSPICIOUS

July 10

12:20 a.m., Rockhaven Road, Munson. Caller saw someone about an hour ago walking on their property. Her son thought it was his sister outside talking so he went out to check. He got no answer and went back inside. He thought it was the neighbor, but they didn’t answer when he called out. We saw a shadow standing on the deck a little bit ago. I have two special needs adults here and we are all kind of scared. There is a trail of footprints from my yard to the neighbors. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate anyone. Deputy also spoke with neighbor; was not him and did not see or hear anything.

July 13

11:58 a.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Caller believes someone either shot or threw a rock from the west side of the road from the property just south of Morning Star Church, shattering his passenger window. Deputy advised. Unknown cause of damage. No persons observed in the area; no evidence of anyone in the trees. Does not appear to have been a bullet.

July 15

12:13 p.m., Bundysburg Road, Parkman. Northeast corner of state Route 88 and Bundysburg. Someone has put four pots of marijuana plants in the field. Deputy located four small marijuana plants in the field. Plants were returned to post for destruction. No suspects at this time.

July 16

1:20 p.m., Owen Road, Parkman. Fifteen-year-old daughter was on a scooter. A man tried to do something to her. She is home now, but was screaming.?It was a black truck and went toward Route 88 and was stopping at the mail boxes. Caller was not clear as to what she thought; either the man wanted to run her over or possibility snatch her away. Deputy advised. Truck was with Geauga Soil and Water. The truck attempted to flag down the female to ask her where the address was. Female got scared and ran home. All parties advised.

July 16

10:01 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Male in all camouflage walking east bound hitch hiking. He steps into the roadway so people can see him. Caller is worried someone will hit him. Deputy located the male who was stranded by his girlfriend in Troy. Male was transported into Trumbull County and said he will make arrangements to get home from there.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

July 11

9:27 p.m., Loring Ave., Aquilla Village. Kids are driving around in a black Honda Accord through Aquilla Village. They almost hit people on the street. Residents have been yelling out to them to stop. Last seen going down Gorden to Loring then to Berkshire and back up around. After they were asked to slow down, they went faster. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate.

VANDALISM

10:24 a.m., Baybrook Lane, Auburn. Complainant did not want a deputy to respond; however, she only wanted the incident on record. Light bulbs broken at the maintenance building, and watermelon rinds and what appears to be either mud or dog feces thrown at a door. Extra patrol for the over night hours requested.

WEAPON OFFENSE

July 12

4:11 p.m., McCall Road,?Parkman. Caller advised she was boating at a lake nearby. Caller advised while they were boating, someone was shooting and the bullet went right over their heads. Caller is now on the shore off McCall Road waiting for a deputy. Deputy met with complainant. Spoke with neighbor. Neighbor was outside with the family for two hours and heard no gunfire. Spoke with other resident on Agler who also did not hear anything. Complainant advised. Unknown where the shots originated. Nothing heard for approximately 30 minutes prior to deputy arriving on scene.
