The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Aug. 28 through Sept. 3. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 386 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Sept. 3
8:56 a.m., Plank Road, Montville. Caller believes the neighbor’s bulldogs dug a hole in her yard and killed a cat. She did not see this. She wants to see a sheriffs deputy. Complainant found a deceased cat in her backyard. She believes the neighbor’s dog is responsible, but not sure. I was unable to make contact with anyone at the neighbor’s residence at this time. I will stop back.
BURGLARY
Sept. 3
8:01 a.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Forced entry at back door, occurred yesterday while complainant was at work. A shotgun, welder machine and change were taken. Deputy advised.
CITIZEN’S DISPUTE
Aug. 29
12:48 p.m., Jug St., Troy. Neighbor is piling up dog crap on the property line. Caller says they have been feuding since he moved in. Deputy advised. Ongoing, escalating dispute over the property line. Attempted to give advice to both parties; however, dispute was not resolved.
EXPLOSIVES
Aug. 30
3:34 p.m., Quinn Road, Auburn. The male at this location has been shooting weapons and exploding Tannerite. The caller does not want to see a deputy and does not want the male to know that she called. Deputy spoke with the owner of the property in question who stated she and her husband were not home and are presently attending a game for their son. Due to this, it is impossible for any residents at this address to be shooting or exploding any devices. Complainant did not wish to be contacted. Deputy listened for sounds of explosions and shooting in the area and heard none.
INJURED PERSON
Sept. 1
7:06 p.m., Hosmer Road, Parkman. 63-year-old female had surgery a month ago on her foot. She just fell on it and can see the bone. She says you can see the bone bubbling up under the skin, but it has not broken through. Caller states she is a diabetic and has had her other foot amputated.
INTOX PERSON
Aug. 28
7:53 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Male appears intoxicated, down in ditch throwing up. Dark clothing, no other descriptions. Caller states he is headed toward Mayfield. Caller requested a deputy to call her and advise if we locate the male. She states she has seen him around before and she has young children so it makes her nervous. Deputy advised. Unable to locate.
SUSPICIOUS
Aug. 28
8:26 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Male showed up with a black duffle bag saying he was there to deliver a pizza. He had a 2-liter sticking out of the bag. He left after the homeowner said they didn’t order pizza. The male drove a silver Honda Civic. He said he was from Zeppe’s, but the car did not have any lights on it saying it was a pizza delivery car. The male did not ring the doorbell. Caller contacted Chardon Zeppe’s and they advised the male just went to the wrong house.

Sept. 2
9:33 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller advised it is a bike night at Zeppe’s Pizza. Advised it appears two bikes collided in the parking lot. One of the bikes is laying down. Caller advised a crowd is starting to form. There was no yelling or fighting when caller left, but caller states the crowd is getting bigger and is concerned a fight may start. Caller did not want to leave his name. Deputy responded. Car backed into parked motorcycle. All parties involved stated they were OK and did not need a crash report.
TRAFFIC OFFENSE
Sept. 1
6:40 p.m., Burton Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Northbound on Route 528 from Burton Windsor, a gold pickup truck with three male occupants. One male occupant threw liquid on an Amish child walking on the street. Caller didn’t see the vehicle leave yet. Caller advised the vehicle is no longer behind the community center. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle or any injured Amish children.
