10:34 p.m., Madison Road, Middlefield. Alarm is coming from the shed door. Attempting key holder. Shed keys were put in the drop box by the property. Appears that someone left the shed door key in the door and the wind blew the door open. The key was placed in the late night drop box on the main building.

Complainant called back and now the neighbor is playing loud music again and bouncing a basketball. Spoke to complainant. Music was off upon arrival. Neighbor has a camera on the house and turns the radio off when the deputy arrives.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 16

1:16 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. I just heard someone walking around my property. I heard their footsteps in the mud. I had my saw going so I couldn’t tell how many people were there but I could hear them walking. I’m still in the garage. The big door is closed and the little door is closed. It was a person, not an animal. I said I was going to get my gun (which I don’t have) and then I heard them running. My girlfriend and two dogs are inside the house. They are sleeping. I was going to file a report last week when stuff came up missing from the garage. The only weapon I have right now is a pocket knife. I build furniture. I heard a stick break and then footsteps. That’s when I yelled and then I heard them running. Deputy checked the area and nobody was found. No signs of persons in the yard. Complainant never saw a person, only heard noises.

Oct. 16

9:12 a.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Green Ford Escape pulled off to the side of the roadway and then a white male was walking down the roadway. The male was wearing shorts and a green sweatshirt. Deputy located the vehicle and spoke with the male who was delivering phone books in the area. The vehicle was a green Ford Escape. No criminal activity was suspected.

Oct. 19

4:33 p.m., Thwing Road, Chardon. A male in a white pickup truck was trying to sell steaks. Vehicle left headed towards route 6. The caller does not want to meet but would like the area checked. Deputy located the truck. The driver worked for Chef Star. Employee advised he was done for the day.

Oct. 20

10:01 a.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Husband saw someone in the backyard last night. This morning, caller went out to the barn and the lock is completely busted off. She doesn’t want to go in there. Deputy advised. Homeowners observed unknown person running through their yard last evening about 10 p.m. This a.m. they found that a pad lock on an outbuilding had been removed. I checked the building and located no one inside. Nothing appears to be missing at this time. Extra patrol.

VANDALISM

Oct. 16

11:23 a.m., Grove Road, Troy. The Superintendent of West Geauga Schools noticed this morning that his numbers on the mailbox have been spray painted and wanted a deputy to respond. They had to terminate an employee and he was pink slipped the other day. Deputy advised. Complainant’s mailbox, neighbors garage can and road sign in adjoining county spray painted. Not related to extra patrol request.
