EXTRA PATROL
Feb. 9
9:17 a.m., Auburn Road, Auburn. Request for extra patrol due to increase in dump truck traffic and the fact that the road is narrow. We have school kids out standing for buses. Also they are parking on the hill on Crackel Road waiting to get loaded and you cannot see to get out. The complainant did speak to the owner of the quarry. The owner did put up signs, but he still has concerns for safety.
Feb. 10
1:08 p.m., Georgia Road, Burton. Would like extra patrol when school lets out around 3 p.m. The traffic on Georgia between White and Chipmunk is going way to fast. Also there are kids playing on the hill at the school and they throw snowballs at each other. The caller feels that a snowball may miss and end up hitting a car and cause a accident. Deputy advised.
NOISE PROBLEM
Feb. 8
12:34 a.m., Nicki Lane, Hambden. The trailer behind the caller, on Leader, is blasting loud music. Caller states this is a nightly occurrence, and would like us to request they turn it down. Caller advised that there is not a noise ordinance and was advised to contact the township to request one. Deputy arrived and parked on Leader Road, where no music nor noise nor anyone awake was observed.
SUSPICIOUS
Feb. 5
6:44 p.m., Rapids Road, Troy. Almost to the Portage County line. There was a brine truck with a hose going into the creek. The plate was not obtained. The side of the truck said Brine Residual. The caller asked them what they were doing and she states pulling out water. Deputy checked creek and found no obvious signs of contamination or criminal activity. Suspicious vehicle no longer on site. Message left with the City Of Akron Water Supply Division advising them of the incident.
Feb. 6
5:26 p.m., Mac’s Convenience Store, Chardon. Callers 12-year-old daughter and her friends were at this store and a male tried to pick them up and attempted to buy them candy. Heavier-set white male, jeans and black sweatshirt with flip flops. Caller went and picked the girls up. Suspect was driving a black car but they don’t know where he went. Chardon units will check GetGo and Sheetz. No matching vehicles at Sheetz or GetGo. Observed offense is possible criminal child enticement.
Feb. 8
10:26 p.m., Huntley Road, Huntsburg. Caller came home to his propane tank turned on along with the burners on his grill. This is right next to the dryer vent and would like to make a report. There is no smell of the propane in the home. Caller was home at 1 p.m. to let his dogs out and smelled it, but didn’t think to check it at that time. Extra patrol requested during dayshift hours.
