The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 6 through May 12. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 356 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

May 9

10:24 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Deputy located a golden retriever walking south on Auburn Road. Deputy transported the dog to the shelter and contacted the number on the fence. The form was completed and the dog was secured.

CITIZEN’S DISPUTE

May 7

10:23 p.m., Leader Lane, Hambden. The complainants neighbor parked in front of his trailer again. The park manager advised him to take pictures. When the vehicle owner saw him taking pictures he told the complainant to get back in his home. The complainant wants to meet with a deputy. All parties are separated. Deputy spoke with both parties, advice given regarding parking issues and neighbor disputes.

INJURED PERSON

May 7

11:00 a.m., Auburn Road, Munson. 14 year old female was shot with a bb gun by the adult neighbor woman. Deputy advised. Report taken along with statements and photos.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

May 8

11:09 a.m., Pioneer Road, Huntsburg. Mailbox was destroyed during the overnight hours. There is another Amish family down the road that had their’s damaged as well. The caller does not need to meet with a deputy. He requests extra patrol and to be contacted in the future if a deputy develops a suspect.

May 9

4:16 p.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Neighbors horses got lose. They were put into the callers hay field and they have done a lot of damage. Daughter is on scene but caller is not. Caller would like us to document the scene. Deputy spoke with the daughter and owner of the horses. Horses were placed in complainants field earlier after getting loose from the farm on Burton Windsor. Only possible damage done was horses eating complainant’s hay. Advised to contact Sheriff’s Office if further damage is found. Horses were caught and returned home.

SUSPICIOUS

May 10

5:25 p.m., Shaw Road, Troy. There is a red truck with two large fluid containers on the back. The caller believes the person is dumping waste water into the reservoir. The caller did not have a plate. Deputy advised and nothing was being dumped.

THEFT

May 10

4:14 p.m., Pekin Road, Newbury. The complainant advised his horse was stolen in Newbury and being held at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Deputy advised. Party sold his horse last year and as part of the sales agreement that party was to contact them if they were to get rid of the horse and has not contacted him. Party was advised the matter is civil and would need to file a small claims action.
