The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffs Office Dec. 21-27. In total, the sheriffs office handled 366 calls during this seven-day period.

Burglary

Dec. 27

3:56 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. Caller states she came home and fund her house burglarized. Caller states she is not sure how the subject(s) entered the residence; there is broken glass and items tossed onto the floor. Female left residence at noon and just returned home. There are firearms in residence. Caller went through home and did not find anyone, but has not searched entire residence. Female is now waiting outside. Report taken.

Domestic Violence

Dec. 21

8:47 a.m., Sanctuary Drive, Auburn. Post 1 lobby call reference an assault. Spoke with male complainant who stated on Dec. 20 his wife was consuming alcohol at their residence. Complainant said wife became angry and scratched his left and right bicep/shoulder. Deputy observed fresh scratches. Complainant advised he did not want wife arrested due to the holidays and because he does not want an arrest to be harmful to their children. Complainant said he would go to court and apply for protection order. Complainant said his relationship with wife is coming to an end and he wanted to document incident in the event his wife becomes vindictive and wants to retaliate and file charges against him. Advice given. No further follow up.

Harassment

Dec. 24

9:22 a.m., Woodlawn Road, Hambden. Complainant advised his sister has been harassing him via phone. Advised it is over their fathers will. Deputy advised sister not to call the brother.

Indecent Exposure

Dec. 25

5:21 p.m., Ford Lane, Burton. Male in dark sweat pants and hoodie exposing himself at the window.

Suspicious

Dec. 21

8:33 a.m., Bundysburg Road, Huntsburg. Occurred Monday afternoon. Bus driver saw an Amish child in the front yard pointing a gun at the bus. Kids at school will stop back to speak with them in the afternoon. Deputy spoke with mother of children and she will take corrective action and also advise the young boys not to point a BB gun at school buses or any other vehicles.

Dec. 22

2:23 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Male passed out in his truck running and lights on at Zeppes. One arrested.

8:49 a.m., Thompson Road, Thompson. Received a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a (911) number. It plotted to the high school. Due to recent threats a deputy was dispatched to check the area. Nothing unusual to report in or around school. Business as usual. No suspicious persons or vehicles.

Dec. 23

8:02 p.m., Ravenna Road, Chardon. Out at the bike/walking path on Ravenna Road with a vehicle. Couple people in the back seat. Male and female talking in the back seat of the car. They were sent on their way. Female advised she was there on her own free will.

Dec. 26

11:33 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Someone tried to drive down the sled hill. Need report for rangers. Vehicle can be left where it is until morning and rangers will handle.

Theft

Dec. 21

2:08 p.m., Ravenna Road, Claridon. Theft of generators. Contact person in the ER.

Traffic Crash

Dec. 22

4:33 p.m., Newcomb Road, Middlefield. Toyota Corolla into a stop sign; male and female occupants appear to be fighting. Occupants are intoxicated, fleeing from the scene. Caller states they are slurring their words and stumbling around. Male driver is dashing through the snow, wearing plaid pants, attempting to flee scene. Driver is now returning to scene. Cited.

Welfare Check

Dec. 24

9:38 a.m., Burton Heights Boulevard, Burton. Caller watched a female jogger jogging down the road and there was a truck following her slowly. She never turned around. Vehicle was the joggers husband. No cause for alarm.
