The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffs Office April 26 through May 2. In total, the sheriffs office handled 395 calls during this seven-day period.

Animal Problem

April 29

7:43 a.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. Neighbors livestock is back out on the road and the cars keep stopping. Today it is the ducks again. Animals are well off the roadway; no hazard at this time.

Citizen Assist

April 26

7:56 a.m., Old State Road, Claridon. Ongoing problem with the neighbors in the back. Would like deputy to park in the front. Resident stated she believes neighbors are purposely cutting her flowers with weed whacker, shooting grass clippings into her flower beds and damaging her bird feeders. No evidence available. Advised to get cameras to catch the neighbors (or possible animals) destroying her bird feeders.

Citizen Dispute

April 26

10:10 p.m., Treadway Drive, Munson. Caller advised his neighbor is purposefully shining his floodlights at callers house. Caller has been having issues with this neighbor for approximately one year. Caller requesting to document the incident. Deputy advised. Advice given.

April 30

2:14 p.m., Butternut Road, Newbury. Neighbors pulled out the stakes and bent them. Want an officer out here now. Neighbor not home. Follow up later on. Advice given.

Domestic Dispute

April 27

12:47 a.m., North Rider Road, Burton. Male is fighting with his wife and is walking outside naked with their child. Caller said he tried to take his daughter and she pushed him away. No alcohol, no weapons. This started over the couple talking about possibly getting divorced. No violence; parties agreed to separate for the night.?Advice given.

Fraud

April 27

3:26 p.m., Mulberry Road, Munson. Attempted to purchase a vehicle on eBay. Caller wired money to an account in London and has recently found out is was a fraud. The caller is out $19,000. Report taken.

Indecent Exposure

May 1

6:13 p.m., Nash Road, Troy. Caller states a tan car passed his daughter while she was walking down the road. The male driver exposed himself to her, then continued driving. White male driver appeared to be in his late teens/early 20s. Female, an Amish girl, described the suspect as younger white male with heavily tattooed arms. Victim is not sure she could ID the male. Extra patrol requested for the area, with special attention to the Nash Road address.@Reverse subhead-BlackML:Juvenile Problem

April 26

9:54 p.m., Madison Road, Parkman. Caller states their 17-year-old daughter is out with a 30-year-old male and is refusing to come home. Report taken, bolo sent out, TCSO was unable to locate. Male arrested for OVI, contributing and open container.

Medical

April 30

12:25 p.m., Scranton Woods Trail, Newbury. Husband was siphoning some gas and swallowed some. Caller was connected to poison control per their request and until the squad arrives.

Suspicious

April 26

5:28 p.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Caller states he is receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown person claiming he is delinquent on payments for his truck and he has received traffic tickets for the truck. Caller states he is Amish and does not own a vehicle. Spoke with caller who was looking for a different person with the same name. Caller removed complainants number from list.

April 29

11:33 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Newbury. Complainant advised a Nelson tree truck is parked on her property. Unknown why. She is requesting someone to check. She has been having problems with damage to her property, including trees being cut.

April 30

1:10 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Troy. Subjects called the residence requesting $1,400 for a nephew that was in trouble. They left phone numbers. The son arrived and called the number back. He was advised to meet in one hour. Son requested to see a deputy. Complainant received a call advising her that her grandson was in trouble and needed $1,400 sent to him. Complainant did not send any money to the caller. Complainant advised of the scam and for her not to send anyone money like that. Complainants son tried calling the number given and they no longer answer it. Advice given.

Theft

April 27

7:10 a.m., Cross Creek Parkway, Newbury. Noticed13 chain saws. Not sure what else is gone. Deputy will handle.

April 29

5:23 p.m., Nicki Lane, Hambden. Sometime in the last week someone stole four guns, one pistol and three rifles, and my wedding bands. There has been no evidence of forced entry. Deputy advised.

April 30

8:09 p.m., Valley Road, Auburn. Large number of plants were stolen out of my greenhouse while I was away today.
