Animal Problem
April 14
11:48 a.m., Kinsman Road, Burton. In the parking lot of Dutch Family, caller hit a squirrel and it is stuck in the grill and still alive. Deputy used his ASP to pry the squirrel from the grill of the Ford vehicle. The squirrel was flung off the grill and fled from the deputy under a Honda. The squirrel was angry and was heard screaming as the deputy tried to chase the squirrel away from area.
April 15
4:22 p.m., Winfield Park Drive, Newbury. Sick skunk in the yard. Caller has already contacted the health department. They said they will come when it is dead. Skunk has been put down. Complainant will contact the health department to pick up.
Citizen Assist
April 17
10:28 a.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Yesterday I had Chardon PD come out and they said they could not take a report because it is a civil issue. I recently bought a car and I had it serviced at a service station in Chardon and they did something that damaged my transmission. I need a report for my insurance agency. Chardon PD refused so I need the sheriffs office. Advised a civil matter.
11:06 a.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. I sold a horse to a lady in Missouri. She is not happy with the horse and wants to bring it back. I do not have room for the horse any longer. She has threatened to bring the horse back and tie it to a tree in my yard. I want to know what I can do to stop that. Spoke with caller and advised her matter is civil in nature. Deputy advised caller to call police if owner of horse drives all the way from Missouri to Claridon to leave horse on callers property.
Disorderly
April 13
4:39 p.m., Kinsman Road, Punderson. Male at the beach is saying bad words. Parties were fishing and their lines crossed and he became upset. Forty-year-old male. Caller was asked to separate herself from the male and keep her distance. Caller declines to pursue charges. Suspect was talked to regarding use of profanity in public.
Suspicious
April 12
4:28 p.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Worker found some suspicious code 18 items at the youth center. Possibly drug paraphernalia found on the property of the youth center. Will be processed to be destroyed.
April 13
1:49 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Guy hitchhiking on 422 in front of the Parkman BP. Caller said he looks like one of the guys thats on the news. The sheriffs office is looking for him?
7:48 p.m., Reeves Road, Parkman. Someone plastic wrapped and TPd the property. Caller parked her car on the street and is talking to the neighbor. Report for toilet paper, plastic wrap and shaving cream in the yard. IR only at this time.
April 17
8:12 a.m., Valley Road, Auburn. Last Sunday I heard rapid gunfire and then a huge explosion in the area of northern LaDue. In light of the Boston bombing, I thought I should tell someone. This occurred around 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. It changed the air pressure when it occurred also.
11:10 a.m., Burton Windsor Road, Burton. Male and female came to door asking permission to go on callers property. Wanted to enter property at night. Stated doing conservation study. No ID for conservatory. Left in vehicle, headed east on Burton Windsor. Male got instantly angry when refused permission and that son worked for GCSO. Deputy advised. Male stated they were Western Reserve Area Conservatory. It was not someone with the park district. Checked area, UTL. Advised homeowner to remain vigilant.
Theft
April 12
4:10 p.m., Nash Road, Troy. Complainant in the lobby wants a list of pawn shop items that we have received. He wants to see if items of his that were stolen Feb. 26 are on it. Information received. Follow-up required.
7:36 p.m., Tavern Road, Troy. Caller states male with his girlfriend left in a white/red Chevy truck, unknown direction of travel, after stealing large amounts of steel off the property. Owner is on way to the property, was called into him by an Amish neighbor. Report to follow. Two arrested and transported to jail.
April 13
4:38 p.m., Old State Rod, Claridon. Caller states a female came to his house claiming to be an art student and photographer. She asked permission to take pictures of an abandoned house north of the callers address. Caller told her he does not own the house and then observed her go to the house and begin taking pictures. He then saw her go into the house and remove multiple items from the deceased owner, including a guitar and other items. Resident stopped female, who admitted she had no permission to take the items and that she did not know the owner. Female is detained inside the callers residence. Female arrested.
9:28 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Theft of drug boxes from the rescue squads. No signs of forced entry to the FD. Report taken.
April 14
3:47 p.m., Owen Road, Parkman. Caller states a gun was stolen from her nightstand sometime within the last 24 hours. Took report.
April 15
3:50 p.m., Old State Road, Hambden. Came back from vacation and our trailer is gone. Report taken.
Threatening
April 13
3:25 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Male posted if someone doesnt stop me imma murder. Deputy handling. Per deputy, male advised the post was lyrics from a song and he has no intent to harm.
April 14
12:52 p.m., Hautala Road, Montville. At Post. Fifteen-year-old female is threatening to have parents killed via statements on email, etc. Report taken.
