The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffs Office Dec. 14-20. In total, the sheriffs office handled 325 calls during this seven-day period.

Child Abuse

Dec. 16

@:7:27 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Troy. 2-year-old child with several bruises from possible child abuse over a large portion of her body. Child was in the care of her father for the weekend and was returned to the caller at 3 p.m. Caller just now noticed her injuries and the child is having trouble moving around and sitting down. Father is not on scene now.

Citizen Dispute

Dec. 18

5:53 p.m., Ascot Lane, Auburn. Caller returned home to find his wife had taken all the belongings out of the home. Caller would like to file report. Deputy advised.

Juvenile Problem

Dec. 20

11:12 a.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Found student book with some disturbing writing in it. Report taken.

Littering

Dec. 14

9:32 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Someone dumped 6-7 bags of garbage in the dumpster. Looks like medical supplies. Wants trash removed by owner. She was called in and stated it would be removed by end of business today. She was advised if not she would be charged.

Suspicious

Dec. 15

2 p.m., Stella Lane, Auburn. Spoke with caller. Advised while jogging their teenage daughter was approached and asked where she lived and about a part-time job by a resident on Auburn Road. Caller said he asked her if she wanted to see the business. Spoke with resident. He advised he is always looking for part-time help. He was advised not to approach female on roadside again. Resident claims he was in no way trying to entice the female. No criminal actions believed to be taken. Caller does wish to have the incident documented due to the suspicious nature of the encounter.

Dec. 19

3:07 p.m., Fairlawn Drive, Bainbridge. Suspicious male crouching down by trees behind her residence wearing black hoodie with hood up and khaki pants. Male located and identified. Subject stated he was searching for drugs left by a person he refuses to identify. Subject is charged with trespassing. Caller advised.

Dec. 20

8:59 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. In the next 15-20 minutes there is going to be a silver Saturn sedan with extremely dark tinted windows going through the area of 422 and 528 with drugs in the vehicle. It will be traveling eastbound on 422 and then north on 528. Caller refused to give anymore information about who he was or who was driving vehicle. Deputy will check when clear.

Theft

Dec. 14

2:04 p.m., Newcomb Road, Middlefield. A woman in gray sweatpants put a glass candle in her purse. Woman is late 30s, early 40s. She is slender with brown hair, no teeth and has a tattoo on her neck. She is around 100 pounds. She is still in store. Report taken.

Dec. 15

1:25 p.m., Indian Hills Drive, Auburn. Theft. Spoke with caller who believes an 8GB iPod and 50 $1 bills were removed from her sons vehicle on Dec. 10 between 8:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 11. Vehicle was unsecured. Caller requested no IR; she only wished to make GCSO aware of the activity in the area.

Dec. 18

7:56 a.m., Kile Road, Hambden. I tied a gift on the garbage tote for the garbage guy. Someone came by and cut it off and took it. I called the garbage company to verify the driver didnt get it. No need to see a deputy; just wanted GCSO aware.

11:18 a.m., Zrolka Drive, Huntsburg. Theft of $20 that was left for the Universal garbage person. Caller just wants it on file. He does not want to see deputy.

Dec. 19

1:34 a.m., Eastpoint Drive, Huntsburg. West on 322 older American made vehicle took the money and gift left for the trash man with the garbage at end of street. Vehicle was pursued by homeowner who lost sight on 322. Checked entire area. UTL?suspect vehicle.

Threatening

Dec. 17

8:27 a.m., Berkshire Drive, Aquilla. Teenage son told his mother after a disagreement this morning that if he had a gun he would shoot her. Son and daughter were into it over the shower. He told his mother to shut the %@#& up and if he had a gun he would shoot her in the face. She told him he needed to stick to the routine with the shower and sharing with his sister. Son did finish getting ready and went to school. He has been getting more aggressive everyday. He is in counselling. Mother did advise son does not have access to gun. Call clear. One juvenile male to detention center.
