Sixth-Graders Visit Airport
Burton Elementary School sixth-graders visited the Geauga County Airport on Sept. 23. The field trip was a part of Mrs. Duns and Ms. Hochschild’s math and science classes and their aerodynamics lesson.
Prior to the trip, students were assigned to construct airplanes using 2-liter soda bottles and other materials. The students flew their airplanes in one of the hangers and measured the distance the planes traveled.
The students were divided into groups and learned about gliders, helicopters, planes and experimental aircraft. A special thank you goes to the staff and pilots at the airport who participated.
