LES Pre-K Gets 5-Star Rating

Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) is a five–star quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. SUTQ recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed licensing health and safety regulations.

Programs with five-star ratings are focused on continuous improvement. They focus on student readiness and assessment, establishing developmental goals and activities, preparing students for transitioning to kindergarten and valuing relationships with families and communities. Berkshire is proud of the preschool staff for their hard work and dedication toward helping the youngest learners develop their self-confidence, social/emotional skills and a love of learning that will help them find success in school and in life. Investing in high-quality preschool programming pays tremendous dividends for families and the community as more young learners have access to the support they need to become kindergarten ready.

Berkshire congratulates and thanks Danna Meek and Dee McGee on their ongoing commitment to ensuring that the children have the best opportunities to succeed before they enter kindergarten.

Currently, the Ledgemont Elementary School preschool follows an integrated model serving children identified with a disability/delay and also peer models.

If any Berkshire families are interested in the district offering a morning pre-school program for all children as well, please contact Miss Timmons or Berkshire’s curriculum director at 440-834-3380 ext. 2108 or dawn.fleming@berkshireschools.org.
