Students Break Track Records
The Cardinal Middle School girls’ 4×400 relay team shattered a school record that had stood since 2012, clocking a time of 4:31.29 at a recent meet. The team — Aubrey Herrera, Gracyn Kitzmiller, Willow Krebs and Audrina Tilton — also placed in the Top 30 in the state.
Herrera continued her standout season, breaking the school record in the 400-meter dash for the second time this year. Her time of 62.86 eclipsed the previous record of 63.75, set in 2007.
The 4×800 relay team also previously broke the school record, finishing in 11:28.4. The team consisted of Gracyn Kitzmiller, Aliya Springer, Hailey Bennett and Allison Wojtasik.
Records also fell in the pole vault. McKenna Fortier and Willow Krebs each broke the women’s school record, while Blake Hollesh cleared the men’s record by more than 1.5 feet.
National Math Stars
Enzo Loomis, Anna Owens and Payton Kaserman were recognized at a recent Board of Education meeting for earning National Math Stars Awards. The three second-graders were identified as top math performers, placing in the top 2% of their grade level nationally.
