Famous Ohioans
Jordak elementary and Cardinal intermediate students had an opportunity to meet dozens of famous Ohioans on May 7 and 8. Fourth-graders in both Mrs. Torre’s and Mrs. Gilley’s classes at Cardinal Intermediate School each selected a well-known person from Ohio to study and then students created a poster and brief report on the Ohioan’s accomplishments. Students then dressed up like their Ohioan for school on Thursday and Friday, displayed their posters outside and presented their findings to students, teachers, staff and grandparents who were visiting the school.
“This is such a neat event our teachers do,” said CIS Principal Julie Fulton. “The project not only helps students with their research, writing, and presenting skills, but every single person who sees these projects from the students to the teachers, staff and parents learns something new it’s really a fun day.”
Schools Welcome Grandparents
Cardinal Schools gladly welcomed grandparents to Jordak elementary and Cardinal intermediate schools on May 7 and 8. Grandparents were able to visit their grandchild’s classroom, participate in the plant and book sales, hear fourth-grade presentations on famous Ohioans and have a professional picture taken with their grandchild.
