CVC Honors Choir Event
Eight students have represented Cardinal High School in the CVC Honor’s Choir. The students held two days of practice with students from other CVC schools and then the entire group put on a performance at Cuyahoga Heights High School on Nov. 23.
Cardinaires Croon Christmas Classics
The Cardinaires stopped by Jordak Elementary the week of Nov. 30 to perform for students in grades K-4. They did a great job performing and singing some Christmas classics. Our Huskie Pups even got to help them out by holding signs up representing the 12 Days of Christmas as each day was sung. According to Cardinal Board Member Katie Thomas, Barb Pokorney, mother of 2014 Huskie Distinguished Hall of Fame alumnus Chris Pokorney, drew the signs for the Cardinaires a long time ago. Students all enjoyed participating in the tradition.
CIS Soil Sleuths
Third-graders in Mrs. Tropf’s science classes became “soil sleuths” for a day. Gail Prunty, from the Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District, spent time with all of the classes on Dec. 1, talking to them about the different types of soil (sand, silt, and clay), its properties, how water moves through each layer and how soil changes over time. Students even got some hands on experience, too, when they had to determine which type of soil was in containers by feeling the contents.
