Chagrin Falls High School senior Jacob Donnellan has been selected as the October Chagrin Valley Rotary Student of the Month. Donnellan was chosen based on his leadership and service qualities he has displayed in the community.

Donnellan has earned several awards during his time at CFHS. He was on the honor roll his junior year, the Business Department’s Student of the Week, and received a lacrosse varsity letter.

He is an active member of several clubs and participates in sports. He is a member of Business Professionals of America, Wellness Council and Cleanland.

Outside of school, Donnellan enjoys fantasy football and watching sports. He works as a cashier at Town and Country Cleaners, is a team leader at Waterway Carwash and is a door-to-door window washing salesman. He is co-founder of Cleanland Litter Pick Up and received recognition from numerous Cleveland news outlets.

In school, Donnellan has taken several accelerated classes including AP US History, AP US Government, AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics, AP Economics, Honors English 9, Honors English 10, and Honors English 11.

He plans to attend business school to study supply chain/operations management.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical

The Academy for the Performing Arts announces its upcoming production of “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” directed and choreographed by Dan Hendrock. The electrifying musical adaptation, based on the beloved book by Rick Riordan, promises to be a thrilling experience for audiences of all ages. Show Dates are Oct. 26 and 28 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Center, located at the 7-12 campus, 400 East Washington St.

The show stars the talented Gabe Feinberg in the title role and features a remarkable cast of 30 students hailing from 11 high schools, including Aurora City Schools, Beachwood City Schools, Chagrin Falls Exempted Village Schools, Mayfield City Schools, Orange City Schools, Richmond Heights Local Schools, Solon City Schools, South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools, West Geauga Local Schools and Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools.

The Academy for the Performing Arts is dedicated to providing high school juniors and seniors with a joyful, challenging and inspiring training experience in the theatre. The educational and performance-based experience builds confidence, courage and mastery in creative self-expression, preparing students for high-level college and professional opportunities.

Pep Rally Kicks Off Fundraiser

On Oct. 12, students and staff of Chagrin Falls High School enjoyed a pep rally to get students hyped up about the Interact Club’s fundraiser to support the Geauga County Job and Family Services “Sponsor-a-Family” program.

Each homeroom teacher was paired with a rival teacher in hopes of raising more money for the cause. The pep rally showcased each pairing then launched into a students versus staff basketball team, which the staff won 9-6.

The annual gift card collection runs from Oct. 17-27. Giant Eagle and Aldi gift cards as well as monetary donations are being accepted to support the growing number of families facing food insecurity this holiday season.
