Broadway Star Returns for One-Night-Only Homecoming Concert
Broadway and television star Corey Cott is coming home for a one-night-only concert on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Chagrin Falls High School Performing Arts Center. Presented by the Chagrin Falls Music Association, “Homecoming: An Evening with Corey Cott” promises an unforgettable night of music, storytelling and celebration of local roots.
A 2008 graduate of Chagrin Falls High School, Cott over the past decade, has crafted a multifaceted career as an actor and singer, both on stage and screen. He returned to Broadway last year in the new musical “The Heart of Rock and Roll,” having previously starred in “Bandstand, Gigi” and his Broadway debut as ‘Jack Kelly’ in Disney’s “Newsies.”
On screen, he co-starred in the Fox series “Filthy Rich” and in the Hallmark movies “The Snow Must Go On,” “Christmas on Cherry Lane 2,” “Making Waves” and “Butlers in Love.” Other appearances include: “The Equalizer,” “Chicago Med,” “Law & Order” and “L&O: SVU,” “Evil,” “The Good Fight”, “Z: The Beginning of Everything” and the BBC miniseries “My Mother and Other Strangers”. Corey played ‘Tony’ in Francesca Zambello’s productions of “West Side Story” at Chicago’s Lyric Theater and with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center. He made his Carnegie Hall debut singing with Steven Reineke and the New York Pops and recently sang with Rob Fisher and the San Diego Symphony under The Rady Shell. Cott is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
This special performance will be especially meaningful, as it takes place on the very stage where Cott’s journey began. As a student at CFHS, he played Curley in “Oklahoma!” — the first musical to open the Performing Arts Center in 2008.
Tickets are now available, with three pricing options: $100 VIP Meet & Greet, which includes premium seating and access to a post-show meet and greet with Corey; $40 Orchestra General Admission; and $30 Mezzanine General Admission.
Chagrin Falls students receive $10 off the regular ticket price with a valid student ID at check-in.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Chagrin Falls Music Association, which supports music education and programming in the district.

CHFS Principal Receives Prestigious Award
Two Northeast Ohio school principals, including Amanda Rassi, principal of Chagrin Falls High School, have been selected to receive the prestigious William M. Jones/Harvard Business School Club Excellence in School Leadership & Management Awards, each earning $3,000 to support their school activities and programs. The second teacher was from Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Rassi was nominated by business teacher John Bakalar.
The annual awards, established by the Harvard Business School Club of Northeastern Ohio, recognize principals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and management excellence while achieving measurable improvements in educational quality.
Rassi’s nomination by Bakalar highlighted her innovative approach to educational leadership and her commitment to creating measurable improvements in student performance at Chagrin Falls High School. The business teacher’s endorsement emphasized how Rassi has transformed the school’s culture while maintaining focus on academic excellence and student development.
The William M. Jones Excellence Awards specifically target school leaders who have made tangible differences in their educational communities. Recipients are evaluated based on their ability to improve student performance, implement innovative management practices, and foster environments that prioritize children’s success.
The $3,000 awards are designated for school activities and programs that will directly benefit students and the broader school community. Rassi was recognized at the June 11 board of education meeting.
