CEA Recognition Dinner

The Chardon Education Association presented its 2025 Friend of Education Award to longtime educator Frances Donahue during the CEA’s annual recognition dinner on April 28.

The award was presented to Mrs. Donahue in recognition of her honorable dedication to the Hilltopper community through her guidance, continued volunteerism in the district and ongoing support.

In addition, the Superintendent’s Award was presented to the Chardon Smile Center in recognition of its commitment to and support of the district.

Presenting the honor to Dr. Christopher Phillips and Dr. Brian Titus, Chardon Schools Superintendent Michael Hanlon said, “The common expression goes, ‘The best time to plant an oak tree is 20 years ago. The second best time to do it is today.’ It takes care, commitment, love and encouragement to help that oak tree grow into something that provides shade and comfort for those around it. What I can say is that Chardon Smile Center has, over the years, planted an oak tree in our community. All of the programs and support of our schools really has made a significant difference to those young people in the classroom, but also in life. So we’re just very appreciative of their time and commitment to our schools.”

The district thanks Mrs. Donahue and Chardon Smile Center for their continued support of Chardon Schools.
