Model UN Team Competes

Chardon High School’s Model United Nations team got off to a great start as 37 delegates representing CHS attended the Cleveland Council on World Affairs Autumn Conference at Case Western Reserve University on Nov. 11-12.

The bright, hard-working students represented countries as well as committees of the United Nations and prepared by doing research and writing papers to resolve current issues facing the world today.

The next forum is in February at the Cleveland International Model UN Conference.

New Facilities Ribbon Cutting

The Chardon Local School District invites the community to a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of the new Business Affairs and Transportation facility at 400 Washington St.

The ceremony, as well as a brief facility tour, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and will be followed by the Chardon Board of Education’s regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

The Business Affairs and Transportation Center allows for more efficient operations within Chardon Schools including a multi-year relocation project to consolidate the district’s transportation and maintenance operations from the high school campus and the business affairs offices from the Hambden campus, all to one shared location.

The district welcomes the public to attend the ceremony to get a first-hand look at how the facility enables a greater level of cohesion between the business affairs team and individual school buildings and provides the resources and space needed to better protect the community’s investment in our transportation fleet.
