Students Gain Experience

Chardon Job Training Program students have been hard at work, building experience and sharpening their skills alongside community partners including, Heinen’s grocery store.

In the bakery, students assisted in the packaging, labeling and stocking of all-butter cookies. In the produce department, they spent time packaging and labeling bottles of orange juice, as well as preparing other fruit and vegetable items.

The job training program provides students – often those with disabilities or in transition programs – with real-world work experience. Students are able to develop new skills and receive support to prepare them for future employment opportunities.
Along with Heinen’s, students have also spent time at Tripoint University Hospitals, Solon Manufacturing, Tractor Supply, Chardon Early Learning Center and more.
