CHS Fall Play
The Chardon High School Drama Department will present “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick Nov. 15-18 at Park Auditorium on Chardon Square.
First performed on Broadway in 1950, “The Curious Savage “ is a comedic play about Ethel Savage, an elderly woman whose husband recently died and left her approximately 10 million dollars. Contrasting the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the avarice and vanity of “respectable” public figures, it calls into question conventional definitions of sanity while lampooning celebrity culture.
Curtain time is 7 p.m. Nov. 15-17 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 18. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Senior citizens are also invited to attend the Wednesday night dress rehearsal free of charge.
Chardon Middle School PTO
Chardon Middle School is very interested in parental feedback regarding traditions and activities for the new CMS. The CMS PTO is a great avenue to be involved in helping to shape these new activities.
The PTO meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the CMS Media Center. If one cannot attend these meetings, please never hesitate to reach out to any of the officers or grade-level liaisons to provide input or feedback.
The PTO officers are: Amy Roediger, president; Seona Goerndt, vice president; Jennifer Sintic, vice president; Heather Gady, secretary; Michelle Primc, secretary; and Cori Bruce, treasurer. Grade-level liaisons are Jen Kuzma (fourth), Corine Casalina (fifth), Annie Darone (sixth) and Elizabeth Fullerman (seventh).
Reach out to the officers and liaisons personally or send a general email to chardonmiddlepto@gmail.com.
Calling All Veterans
Park Elementary School will be hosting an all-school assembly to honor military veterans at 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 12. Parents and relatives of students who have served in the Armed Forces are invited to attend the program.
Park wants to teach its students about the sacrifice service members and their families make every day of the year. Participating veterans are encouraged to wear their uniform, if possible. Each veteran will have the opportunity to share with the audience which branch of service and years of service in the Armed Forces and what being a veteran means to them. Parking is available on Chardon Square.
