Buckeye Girls and Boys State
Each year, across the state, local American Legion posts sponsor high school juniors to attend Buckeye Boys State and Buckeye Girls State. Thank you to the Chardon Post for sponsoring six Chardon High School students for the 2019 conventions. This year, Boys State will be held at Miami University and Girls state at Mount Union.
Boys and Girls State offers a full week of learning about leadership and management skills to serve the student in any career path he or she chooses, combined with learning a vital part of every citizen’s life and how Ohio government operates and functions, all this while developing friendships, which may last a lifetime.
Congratulations to Sarah Bennett, Natalie Fullerman and Katarina Schultz, who have all been selected to attend Buckeye Girls State and Mitchell Ewaska, Tucker Keeney, Bradley Yoger, who have been selected to attend Buckeye Boys State.

In addition, Evelyn Kennedy’s artwork and poem will be displayed in the Visitor Center.
