What will the Chardon School District look like in 10 to 15 years?

Facilities Master Planning

What will the Chardon School District look like in 10 to 15 years? Aging buildings and declining enrollment have led the district to engage in Facilities Master Planning in order to answer those questions and more.

The District is hosting a community forum on May 6 from 9-11 a.m. at Chardon High School and again on May 9 from 7-9 p.m. at the high school.

Email questions or comments to: facilities@chardonschools.org.

Details of planning are available on the district website: www.chardon.k12.oh.us.

Scouts Present Buddy Bench

On April 27, Munson fifth-grade Girl Scout Troop 71166 unveiled its Bronze Award project, Munson School’s first Buddy Bench.

Earning the Girl Scout Bronze Award is a team effort by a group of Junior Scouts to complete a community project, which is how the Buddy Bench came about.

Troop leader Janine Rickets says, “The project’s objective must be to benefit the local community and/or benefit Girl Scouting as a whole in some way. The buddy bench is more than a place to sit. It’s a simple idea: a place a refuge if you’re feeling lonely, and an easy way to foster friendship on the playground.”

TAG Day Benefits Music

TAG (Thank a Giver) Day in Chardon to support the music program of all Chardon students in grades K-12 is on May 13 from 9 a.m. to noon. Students in grades 8-12 will be going door to door to ask for donations to Crescendo Club. Cash and checks payable to Crescendo Club are accepted.

Crescendo Club uses the funds for sheet music, instrument repairs, uniforms, scholarships and other general support of the music program. Crescendo Club thanks Sunrise Springs for their generous donation.
