CHS Fall Play
The Chardon High School Drama Department will present the American classic, “The Crucible,” the weekend of Nov 16-19.
The 1953 play is by American playwright Arthur Miller. It is a dramatized and partially fictionalized story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692 and 1693. In the production, Salem is ablaze with accusations of witchcraft after a group of young girls are found dancing in the woods. Miller wrote the play as an allegory for McCarthyism, when the United States government ostracized people for being communists.
Performances are Nov. 16-18 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 at Park Auditorium on Chardon Square. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
