Chardon Testing Dates
As families set up doctor, dentist or other appointments that would necessitate a child missing school, it is important to avoid the dates of the state-mandated tests, including the Iowa/CogAT Tests and Achievement Tests.
To help in planning, the following 2013 test dates are listed:
Grade 3: Ohio Achievement Testing April 23-24
Grade 4: Ohio Achievement Testing April 30 and May 2
Grade 5: Ohio Achievement Testing April 30 and May 1, 3
Fifth Grade Math Competition
A select group of fifth-grade students from Chardon’s four elementary schools recently competed in the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics Problem-Solving Tournament at Mayfield Middle School.
The students solved math problems in three team activities and one individual event consisting of mental computation and number sense. The teams worked diligently with their coaches to practice problems that reflect, support and extend Ohio’s Academic Content Standards in Mathematics.
We congratulate these students for all their hard work in preparing for the contest.
