Bus Driver Safety Road-E-O

School bus drivers throughout Ohio participate in regional road-e-o competitions each spring that are designed to test and increase their operational and safety skills. Top participants at each regional road-e-o move on to compete at the state-level competition. Participants who score 80 percent or more of the total possible points at a regional or state competition may use that event toward their six-year recertification.

Kenston drivers took first and second place overall out of 32 teams. Individuals placing in the top 10 were: Andy Lenart, second place; Patty Herendeen, fifth place; Mellony Salsgiver, eighth place; and Roger Rodhe, ninth place.

The top six drivers at each regional qualify to compete at the state road-e-o, which is held May 7. Winners from the state go on to an international event in July.
