Leaping into Math
Timmons Elementary School students Leaped into Math with both feet as part of a Kenston High School Math Club sponsored activity designed to promote mathematics for the elementary students. Students were measured in the standing broad jump as part of a data collection process for future curricular assignments.
Timed to correspond with the highly successful Timmons PTO Math-A-Thon, the Kenston Math Club assisted in collecting the data and is sponsoring prizes for the class that leapt the farthest for each grade level. The data collected will be used in curricular appropriate activities at each grade level, further engaging the students with calculations and discoveries with data that represents their own efforts.
