College Credit Plus Program

The College Credit Plus Program (formerly Postsecondary Enrollment Options) allows eligible students in grades 7-12 to take a college course and earn high school and college credit that appears on both their high school and college transcripts. Students must meet eligibility requirements set forth by the college or university in order to participate.

Students and parents interested in participating in the program for the 2015-16 school year must attend the College Credit Plus night at Kenston High School, Lee Auditorium on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. There will be 12 area colleges present to answer questions as well.

Specific details on the program will be progressively added to the guidance website and in the high school guidance office as they become available.

Delayed Start

With the unpredictable weather in Northeast Ohio, Kenston may implement a “One or Two Hour Delayed Start.” A delayed start will only be used if the weather forecast indicates that the current weather conditions will improve soon after school opens and it is safe to transport students. With a delayed start, dismissal is at the regular time.

If one is uncertain about school closings, call 440-564-2134 for up to date information. This message is updated by 6:30 a.m. when conditions warrant.

STEAM Night

The Kenston community is invited to STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) Night, a family event, on March 4 at Kenston High School beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will kick off with a keynote address by Mr. Gary Catella, director of technology at Gooch & Housego. He will demonstrate and present information about the use of light, optics, crystals and lasers in modern technologies. Grade appropriate and hands-on activities will be presented by a variety of local corporations and non-profits.

National Grand Champions

For the ninth year in a row, the Kenston High School Bomberette Dance team won the national championship at the Champion Cheer and Dance Competition held in Cleveland. They also earned first place for their pom and kick routines. Mrs. Kathy Werner coaches the team.
