Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration will be held March 9, from 8-11 a.m. and 4:30-7 p.m., at Timmons Elementary School, 9595 East Washington St., for children entering kindergarten in August.
Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30. Please bring the completed registration packet, supporting documentation and calendar to registration.
Timmons Lunch Bunch
Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School Students of the Month. The following kindergartners honored with “respect” awards were: Madelyn Brogan, Chance Canfield, Annmarie Cianciolo, Gianna Gutowitz, Sadie Kepreos, Tucker Meeks and Joseph Strano.
First-graders were Kirstin Berkes, Wyatt Corto, Allison English, Trevor Hyps, Macie Mintz, Kendra Raypholtz and Xavier Rondo. Second-graders were Bria Devlin, Lily Emch, Gradyn Flynn, Ella Jackson, Ava Kostelnik, Joshua Rice, Andrew Willkomm and Catherine Zoltowicz.
Third-graders were Nicolas Alvarez, James Cerha, Olivia Hayter, Alexa Hebert, Arthur Mighton, II, Elena Padley, Ashley Slates, Gabriella Soltis and Sophia Suskowicz.
KIS Students of the Month
Kenston Intermediate School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for February.
Students selected for Student of the Month “compassion” honors were fourth graders Ava Arslanian, Leonardo DeLuca, Hope Gibbs, Karlo Giulvezan, Abby Ohlsen, Lily Peters, Jack Skufca, Ramsey Smith, Olivia Spilman, Joshua Weaver, Ella Wenger and Ethan Worrell; and fifth-graders Grace Birch, It’ssabella Brunelle, Summer Cooper, Will Deken, Rachel Ford, Tess Hays, L.E. Healy, Jenny Kapcio, Katrina Rowe, Zachary Reiser, Josue Rios and Nicole Sciuva.
Russian Scholar Laureate
Paul Gray and Natalie Kusner have been selected as American Council of Teachers of Russian Scholar Laureates. Paul was recognized in 2013 and Natalie in 2014.
Both are members of a highly selective group of Russian students from secondary schools across the United States, all of whom were selected by their teachers and principals as the most outstanding Russian student at their school. They were both recognized with a certificate and special lapel pin. Mr. Ted Krejsa is their Russian teacher.
STEAM Night
The Kenston community is invited to STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) Night, a family event March 18 at Kenston High School beginning at 6 p.m. Keynote speaker Gary Catella, vice president of technology at Gooch & Housego, will demonstrate and present information about the use of light, optics and lasers in modern technologies.
Grade appropriate and hands-on activities will be presented by a variety of local corporations and nonprofits.
Soup With The Superintendent
Senior adult residents ages 60 years and older of the Kenston School District are invited to join Kenston Superintendent Nancy Santilli on March 18 at 4:30 p.m. for conversation, soup and a sandwich dinner and to attend STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) Night hearing keynote speaker Gary Catella, vice president of technology at Gooch & Housego, will demonstrate and present information about the use of light, optics and lasers in modern technologies. Reservations are required by calling 440-543-9677. The program is part of the district’s S’MORE events (Senior Moments of Rocking Entertainment).
