Problem Solving
Kenston Middle School eighth-grade students in Mrs. Kristin Dages and Mrs. Wendy Wilks’ science classes joined over two million of their peers to participate in The Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week. Students spent an hour learning the basics that are foundational 21st century skills. It was an opportunity to inspire students to look at opportunities and careers that hinge on an understanding of computer science and solving problems.

Kenston Schools will be closed for the winter break beginning Dec. 23. Classes resume for students on Jan. 6.
KIS Students Of The Month
Kenston Intermediate School is pleased to announce its Students of the Month for December.
Students selected for Student of the Month for their participation in technology were fourth-graders Nick Beebe, Emma Edwards, Elena Lioudis, Zach Pijor, Cailey Rogers, Shane Rothlisberger, Victoria Scott, Julia Sell and Zach Soryal and fifth-graders Hannah Kepreos, Cade McClintock, Jenna Morton, Nolan Taft, Molly Cohen, Garrett Polcar, Jake Sigh, Katie Farragher, Jimmy Schuler and Brennan Fisher.
Speech and Debate
The Speech and Debate team competed at the Olmsted Falls Tournament. Earning Best of Round scores were: Emily Herbruck, Caleb Meredith and Nick Vitello in Impromptu Speaking; and Kasia Bieniek, Katie Gross and Gemma McCarley in Prose-Poetry.
Onur Kardzhara earned a top score in Student Speech while Belle Puckett was awarded a third place trophy in Original Oratorical Speaking.
Bomberette Mini Dance Clinic
The award-winning Kenston High School Bomberette Dance team is offering a mini dance clinic to girls in kindergarten through eighth-grade on Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. A T-shirt, instruction, lunch and mini recital are included in the $50 registration fee.
