KHS Students Of The Month
Congratulations to Kenston High School Students of the Month.
Selected for special recognition were freshmen Gabriel Martorana and Madison Spicuzza; sophomores Evan Frank and Paige Owen; juniors Jess Sciuva and Callum Ward; and seniors Tyler Fisher and Becky Parker.
Bus Driver Safety Road-E-O
Kenston hosted one of the regional school bus road-e-o competitions, designed to test and increase their operational and safety skills. Top participants at each regional road-e-o move on to compete at the state-level competition. Participants who score 80 percent or more of the total possible points at a regional or state competition may use that event toward their six-year recertification.
Kenston teams placed first and third. Roger Rhode, Mike Girolamo and Andy Lenhart finished in the top six places and will go on to compete at the state level. Mike Girolamo won Rookie of the Year honors.
KHS Named Most Challenging
The Washington Post vetted 22,000 public high schools while compiling their list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools: only 11 percent made the cut. Kenston is part of an elite list including 40 Ohio schools 13 from Northeast Ohio.
The Post totaled the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests taken at each school and divided that number by the number of graduating seniors.
