KMS STAND Committee

Kenston Middle School selected members of the 2015-16 S.T.A.N.D., or Students Taking A New Direction. The program evolved from students looking to make a difference in their school and community by “taking a stand, lending a hand” against bullying by creating a positive and healthy environment.

The students selected exemplified leadership qualities among their peers and have excelled in treating others kindly.

They are: eighth-graders, Jon Abbarno, Shawn Hamilton, Mandy Glime, Morgan Owen, Madeline Peters, Tori Pozwick, George Sell; seventh-graders Hannah Fender, James Kocheff, Maegan Manning, Lily Peelman, Morgan Polcar, Kyle Quinlan, Donaldo Valadez; and sixth-graders Nick Beebe, Sage Edwards, Presley Gabram, Gwen Gembarski, Joey Holo-dinski, Leah Jarmolowicz, Ryan Peters, Mauria Stanley and Sammi Stefancin.

Band on Demand is Back

Support the Kenston High School Marching Band by purchasing raffle tickets to have it come perform in your front yard. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and can be purchased from any band member or Bomberette.

The winner will be drawn on Oct. 23, with a performance on Oct. 30.

Candidates Night

Political Action Committee of Kenston and the Geauga County League of Women Voters will host a Candidates Night Forum on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in Kenston High School’s Robert A. Lee Auditorium, 9500 Bainbridge Road.

Candidates and issue representatives will present, followed by a question and answer from the audience. Campaign materials will also be available.
