Timmons Elementary School has been awarded gold level recognition from the Ohio Gold, Excellence in Physical Education program. Physical education teachers submitted curricular materials including lesson plans and a detailed questionnaire to be considered for the award.
Physical education teachers Jeff George and Chris Maistros will be honored at the annual conference in December.
KMS Conferences
Kenston Middle School is holding parent-teacher conferences Nov. 19 from 3-7 p.m. in the gym.
Speech and Debate
The Kenston High School Speech and Debate team competed in their second tournament at Lincoln West.
Samara Benza earned fifth place in Program Oral Interpretation. Morgan Spehar was awarded fifth place in Information speaking.
Sarah Herbruck and Savannah Georgian finished sixth in Duo Interpretation. Belle Puckett earned sixth place in Original Oratory.
Salute to Veterans
Veterans were celebrated by third-graders at Timmons Elementary School. Annually, students invite parents, grandparents or a special friend who has served in the military to share stories about military life and their branch of the service. Students honored the veterans by performing military and patriotic songs.
