KHS Students Of The Month

Congratulations to Kenston High School students of the month for September.

Selected for special recognition were freshmen Annika Markoff and Adam Mastropieri; sophomores Joe Staudenbaur and Kira Weber; juniors Ryan Kohn and Anna Soryal; and seniors Evan Frank and Ellie Schabel.

Child Find

As required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA 2004), the Kenston Local Schools is conducting the Child Find campaign to identify, locate and evaluate all children with disabilities from age 3 through 21, residing within the school district. This includes Bainbridge and Auburn children with disabilities who are homeless, wards of the state, or attending nonpublic schools, regardless of the severity of the disability.

If you know of a child with a disability, or a child suspected of having a disability, who is not currently receiving appropriate educational and related services, call Rita Pressman at Kenston’s Special Education Office at 440-543-3013.

School Bus Safety

Ohio has laws that require all vehicles to come to a halt when a school bus has its stop sign out and its red lights flashing. These signals indicate that children are getting on or off the bus.

When sharing the road with school buses, remember these rules: Do not pass a school bus until the red lights and signals are turned off; always stop when traveling in the same direction as the bus; and never pass on the right side of the bus. Besides being illegal, this is where children enter and exit.

Will Train Bus Drivers

Kenston Transportation Department needs individuals with current CDL school bus endorsement for contract or substitute driver positions. Transportation is willing to train drivers. For more information, contact Mrs. Melody Coniglio at 440-543-9567.
