Ledgemont Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2.
Teachers and students dressed up and enjoyed birthday cake, and author Tricia Springstubb held two assemblies during the school day honoring Dr. Seuss and encouraging children to continue reading his legendary books.
March 2 also has been designated Read Across America Day, a nationwide reading celebration. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries and community centers participated by bringing together kids, teens and books.
