Legal Lions Advance

For the seventh time in the past eight years, NDCL’s Legal Lions mock trial team has advanced to the Ohio Mock Trial State Competition.
The return trip to Columbus comes after Team Blue of the Legal Lions won both of their trials in regional competition at the Lake County Courthouse on Feb. 17.

After four separate trials, individual awards won by the Legal Lions included senior Victoria Baioni and junior Tuscani Orris as best attorneys and freshmen Quinton Linnert and Violet Valis as best witnesses.
The Lions will now prepare to compete in the state elimination tournament on March 9 and 10 at the Franklin County Courthouse. The state finals will be argued at the Supreme Court of Ohio on March 11.
English Department Chairperson Victoria Frabotta and English teachers Katie Martinand Michael Vitale advise the team.

Boosters Donate $40,000

NDCL Athletic Boosters added to the excitement of the Feb. 24 boys basketball victory over Lake Catholic by announcing a $40,000 gift to the NDCL Athletic Department.

Booster President Lou Trivisonno presented a super-sized check to Associate Athletic Director Jason Baxter at the end of the first quarter. The donation, which benefits all NDCL athletes and coaches, represents the proceeds from the Boosters’ multiple fundraising efforts throughout the year.
