Seven NDCL thespians received awards during the Geauga Council for Arts and Culture’s Ovations! Awards Ceremony on the evening of April 29 at the Geauga Theater on Chardon Square.
Senior Carter Callender won the Acting Achievement Award for his performance as Cosmo Brown in this spring’s production of “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Senior Marissa Webb took the Vocal Achievement Award for her portrayal of Kathy Selden. Marissa also won the Most Valuable Person Award for the production.
Seniors Tad Brennan and Meena Chauhan and juniors Dan Fogarty and Caitlin Spicer earned the Technical Achievement Award for “Singin’ the Rain’s” silent film feature.
The “Wild Card” Achievement Award went to senior Kevin McGinty, who played three separate roles in the show.
Performing Arts Department chairperson Shirley IvancicStall leads all aspects of the student productions with the assistance of music teacher and band director Adam Pysell as well as family and consumer science chairperson Mary Wheelock.
