Cleveland Through a Lens

Seventh-graders in Mrs. Mary Gilbert’s art class are learning elements of photography. Last Wednesday, the students toured downtown Cleveland and photographed the unique dynamics of the Cleveland Westside Market and the Glass Bubble Project. The photographs, which required specific criteria, will be assembled into a beautiful piece of art and available at the school’s art auction later this year.

NDES is Creating Communities

Second-graders in Miss Julie Amantea and Mrs. Stacey Modarelli’s class created different types of suburban, rural and urban communities using shoeboxes, household and classroom items.

Grandparents Day and Donuts with Dad

NDES celebrates their families with many events throughout the year. This week, over 350 children and their dads shared a special morning at Donuts with Dad.

On Oct. 13, grades K-2 celebrated Grandparents Day with a wonderful morning that included Mass, bingo, refreshments and a magical performance.

The Great Pumpkin Patch

In May, just before leaving for summer vacation, preschool students planted pumpkin seeds. During the summer, families watered and weeded the patch. This week, Ms. Carla Kelly and Miss Jessica Tvergyak’s prekindergarten students harvested the grown pumpkins from the school pumpkin patch. After picking the pumpkins, the students weighed, measured and recorded the data in a pumpkin report.
