Freshman Success Series
The Freshman Success Series is a semester-long program for freshmen at NDCL. The new initiative presents weekly topics to ninth graders in order to develop skills for success in high school and college. The freshmen have already defined what a successful freshman year means for them and have tackled the topic of organization.
They will, in the weeks ahead, look at time management, note taking, prioritizing, test taking skills, goal setting and other key skills for academic success.
Sr. Michelle Kelly, SND, director of the Academic Success Center, remarks, “The freshmen are actively engaged in these sessions and are seeing the connection between the activities they are doing and a positive transition into high school. They are also making new friends and building community with other freshmen in their ELB … another key to a successful freshman year.”
