NDES Algebra Walk

Junior high math teacher Wendi O’Brien took advantage of the beautiful spring-like weather with an “Algebra Walk” on campus. As part of the lesson, students spent time using input-output tables with a variety of equations. The activity appealed to many different learning styles and allowed students to visualize the concept of ordered pairs.

Preschool Sensory Play

NDES Preschool encourages sensory play to help children develop cognitively, linguistically, socially and emotionally, physically and creatively. Using cotton and water tables in a recent activity, students used the scientific process to investigate and explore with their senses.

One Book at a Time

NDES participated in the second annual book drive led by the Marziani and Morrison families in cooperation with Daily Dose of Reading. Daily Dose of Reading is a program that improves literacy in children by empowering families through reading and language. NDES collected over 3,500 books.

Congratulations to Kathy Biro’s first-grade class for leading the collections with 511 books. All donated books will support local head start programs and pediatrician offices.
