NDES fourth-grade social studies students create dioramas and capture a moment in time in Ohio Native American History. The hands-on comprehensive project helps develop a student’s visual and verbal presentation abilities along with strengthening their research skills.
Area Wide Science Fairs
Top junior high participants from the NDES Science Fair went on to compete at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair (NEOSEF) held on March 10 at Cleveland State University and the Western Reserve District 5 Science Day held on March 21 at the University of Akron. It was a great learning opportunity for students to share their projects with professional scientists and engineers from the local area. Eighth-grader Zach Paganini was invited to move on to the State Science Day to be held on May 16 at The Ohio State University.
Preschool Fills Easter Eggs
Each year, NDES Preschool provides Easter eggs filled with candy for an Easter egg hunt for the children of Archbishop Lyke School in Cleveland. This year preschool children filled over 1,000 plastic Easter eggs with candy generously donated by the preschool families. The traditional community outreach project is a wonderful example of NDES students living out Christ’s message.
Preschool and Kindergarten Preview
On April 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, Notre Dame Elementary School will offer a kindergarten preview session for all new and prospective kindergarten students. Notre Dame Preschool will also offer a preschool preview for all preschool aged children on April 25 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The preview days will give each child the opportunity to meet the teachers, enjoy story time and share a snack. Come learn, play and discover the hands-on fun NDES has to offer with iPads, math manipulatives and so much more.
