Ohio History Day

Eighth-graders in Ms. Victoria Thompson’s social studies class presented their Ohio History Day projects to an esteemed panel of judges on March 10. Ohio History Day strives to teach students research skills, implementation of primary and secondary sources, how to develop and support a thesis and presentation skills.

Students excelled in their interview process and several students from NDMS will be competing at the regional competition on April 1. From this competition, students may be asked to compete at the statewide competition on April 22. Stay tuned to find out who advances and congratulations to all our regional candidates.

Amazing Dogs

Mrs. Betsy Dunn and her team from Guiding Eyes for the Blind treated the students in the Amazing Animals elective to a highly informative presentation. Students learned about the training that Labrador retrievers go through to become guide dogs. Not only did the students enjoy hearing the stories shared by Mrs. Dunn and her team, but they also loved interacting with the dogs. The school is thankful for the work done by the staff at Guiding Eyes for the Blind to give the gift of companionship and joy to those with vision loss.
