Grandparents Day
St Helen students welcomed some very special guests on Sept 8 in honor of Grandparents Day. Students and their grandparents started the day with Mass followed by refreshments. Students then showed their grandparents their classrooms and performed several songs in their honor. It was a day filled with love and joy for grandparents and their grandchildren.
Patriot Day
St Helen students remembered Sept. 11 with a patriotic day of red, white, blue … and a little green. Students took the opportunity to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey by sponsoring a patriotic dress down day. Students brought in $1 to be out of uniform for the day.
St. Helen’s Spirit and Service Squad, under the supervision of their teachers Darla Hollowell, Patrick Gannon and Amy Hotchkiss, offered face painting to any student who brought in change.
All of the proceeds will go to help those affected by the devastating hurricanes. It was a day to remember the past, help those in the present and pray for our future.
