Fifth-grade students, under the direction of their teacher Natalie Hudak, had their first Nature Scopes lesson with naturalists from the Geauga County Park District the week of Oct. 11. Each year the park district gives the fifth-grade class their own binoculars to keep. The students practiced using their binoculars to see things far away and then flipped the binoculars over to use as microscopes to magnify flowers, leaves, rocks and other natural items.
